The Challenge

Where Mercer County Stands Today

Mercer County is home to families, seniors, small business owners, workers, students, and neighborhoods with different needs but shared concerns. Residents want county government that listens, communicates clearly, spends responsibly, protects quality of life, and gives every community a real voice.

Too often, decisions feel rushed, explanations feel unclear, and residents feel left out. County government should never feel distant, confusing, or automatic.

County government explained

What Does a County Commissioner Do?

County Commissioners are county-level legislators. In Mercer County, the Board of County Commissioners helps shape county policy, reviews and votes on the county budget, approves county contracts, provides oversight of county government, and serves as an important check on the County Executive.

Commissioners also play a key role in making sure residents have a place to raise concerns, ask questions, and understand how county decisions affect their taxes, services, safety, and quality of life.

Review the Budget

Commissioners review, amend, and vote on the county budget. That means they have a responsibility to ask tough questions, examine spending, and make sure taxpayer dollars are being used wisely.

Approve Contracts

Commissioners vote on county contracts. Ober & Monte de Ramos believe contracts should be reviewed carefully, explained clearly, and measured by whether they serve the public interest.

Provide Oversight

Commissioners should not simply rubber-stamp decisions. They should provide thoughtful oversight, ask for details, demand transparency, and make sure residents are represented.

Listen to the Public

Commissioner meetings are open to the public. Ober & Monte de Ramos want to improve communication so residents know when decisions are happening, how to participate, and how to make their voices heard.

The Vision

Why Ober & Monte de Ramos Are Running

They are running because they believe Mercer County needs leaders who are willing to listen, ask questions, review the details, and speak up for residents. Their goal is to make sure decisions are explained, spending is justified, contracts are reviewed, and residents are heard.

Accountability

County government should be open, responsive, and willing to answer tough questions.

Affordability

With families and seniors feeling pressure, county leaders must look for ways to stabilize taxes and protect taxpayers.

Community Voice

Every part of Mercer County deserves to be heard, from suburban neighborhoods to urban districts and small business centers.

Independent Oversight

Not a Rubber Stamp. A Voice for the People.

County government works best when elected officials ask questions, review the details, and remember who they serve. Ober & Monte de Ramos are running to bring balance, accountability, and independent oversight to the Board of County Commissioners.

Steady Leadership

Ask Better Questions

Before major votes, residents deserve to know the cost, the purpose, the impact, and the long-term responsibility.

Steady Leadership

Explain the Decisions

Government should speak clearly. Ober & Monte de Ramos want county decisions explained in a way residents can actually understand.

Steady Leadership

Represent the Whole County

Mercer County is made up of many different communities. Every resident deserves leadership that shows up and follows through.

Community

Good Leadership Creates a Ripple

When county government leads with responsibility and transparency, the effects reach every community, every family, and every neighborhood. That is how we move Mercer County forward — together.
